Cyber attacks on European subsidiaries of the Toshiba Tec Group

As previously announced by the press release regarding “Cyber attack on European subsidiaires of the Toshiba Tec Group” on May 14th, 2021, we will update you on the progress of the investigation conducted by the outside specialized organization. We sincerely apologize to all concerned for any inconvenience or concern caused by the problem.

As a result of the investigation by the outside specialized organization to date, it has been confirmed that there was the information leakage from the servers of three subsidiaries located in two countries, France and Belgium. They are Toshiba Tec France Imaging Systems S.A., Toshiba Tec Europe Imaging Systems S.A. and Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions (Benelux) NV. As for Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions (Benelux) NV, it can be verified that no customer information was included as a part of its external leakage. Meanwhile, we will continuously conduct further investigation in cooperation with the external expert regarding the details of the information and data which may have been leaked from the concerned servers of Toshiba Tec France Imaging Systems S.A. and Toshiba Tec Europe Imaging Systems S.A. and will report to the relevant parties when they are to be identified, according to the needs. In addition, it has also been confirmed that any regions except for the above was not affected by the attacks previously reported.

As the Toshiba Tec Group has been implementing information security measures, the group will further enhance its efforts to ensure protecting the confidential information of the group as well as the information of its customers and employees. To resolve the problem, the Toshiba Tec group is firmly determined to extend every possible cooperation to the relevant authorities in Europe.
