Waste Reduction and Resource Conservation

Reduction of Waste Discharge

To effectively use resources, the TOSHIBA TEC Group is tackling the reduction of the total amount of waste generated, including recycled waste. In fiscal 2009, the discharged waste amount in Japan decreased by 38% compared with fiscal 2008, and by 62% compared with fiscal 2000. Outside Japan, the amount of waste was also reduced by 15% on a year-on-year basis, and by 17% compared with fiscal 2004. Returnable containers for procured goods are adopted for delivery to reduce corrugated cardboards.
